What has you, and won't let go?

It might be a voice, a feeling, or a set of circumstances—all pointing you toward a future you had never imagined. Perhaps you recognize what's happening to you; perhaps you're frightened by it; perhaps you're mystified.

However you experience it, you sense that your life ought to have a larger meaning. You somehow know that you're meant to do more than you're doing right now. You have been asking yourself: Can't my life be bigger than this? Can I not serve some larger purpose?

The answer to those questions is yes.

About The Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt

Portrait of The Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt

I'm a Unitarian Universalist minister and president emerita of Starr King School for the Ministry. I'm also an author, an editor, and an activist. I've spent most of my working life helping people become the people they want to be.

When I was a magazine and newspaper editor, I helped many aspiring writers get published. As a lay leader, minister, and seminary president, I helped people recognize their calling—to ministry, or to new work. I helped them become more.

This is what I hope for you; here is how I can help.

The Course

Hearing Your Call

This six-session online course begins in late October. We'll talk about what it is that is drawing you toward change; we'll read articles and books from different faith traditions. The primary goal is one of discernment: What is it I feel called to do? Is this a momentary feeling or something lasting and real? If it's real, what do I do about it?

By the end of these six sessions, you'll have more clarity and a better sense of direction. You may discover that you are called to ordained ministry; you may realize that you are already doing the work you're meant to do. You may find avenues to explore that you never considered. In any case, you'll be part of a cohort asking some of the same questions you're asking—and I'll be with you all for those six sessions.

In addition, you'll have one individual 30-minute meeting with me, to be scheduled separately. You might want to talk midway through the course; maybe talking closer to the end of our time together would be more fruitful. That will be up to you.
